A 1 year old boy presents to the emergency department following an episode in which the child became blue and collasped.  Prior to the episode the child was crying which suddenly stopped. The child returned to normal within one minute. There were no jerking movements associated with this event. This child is growing and developing normally. The family history is unremarkable. Physical examination is within normal limits.
